Our Farm & Cabin are located in beautiful Morgan County, Ohio 10 miles S.W. of McConnelsville, near Chesterhill & Burr Oak State Park.

 

The Cabin has one room downstairs with sleeping loft upstairs, and a large porch.  It was built with all local wood inside paneling, and exterior siding. 8 person maximum capacity. No smoking inside please.

 

It is situated in a grove of trees overlooking our bass pond, and is surrounded by pasture. 

 

We call it a rustic cabin because it is like a cross between a motel room and camping out, with an outhouse & no electricity..

PRICING

$20 per person per night with a minimum of 2 persons ($40) per night.  During fall deer season, there is a minimum of 3 persons ($60) per night.

For those bringing a dog, the dog must be under control at all times, and not threatening our cattle.  Also please do not allow pets on the couches or beds.  Since there is no electricity, we cannot use a vacuum cleaner to clean up pet hairs, and there may be other folks that have pet hair allergies.

Check in time is 3:00pm on the arrival day & check out time is 11:00 am on the departure day. If no one is there the night before, you are welcome to come the morning of your arrival day. If no on has reserved the following night, you are welcome to stay later on your departure day.  Unreserved last minute bookings are ok, if available.

 

 

The Cabin has:

 

Outdoor Toilet "outhouse". 

 

Hot and cold running water, sink and shower, table & chairs provided. 

 

Gas hot water heater. 

 

Bring your own drinking water. (To prevent freezing pipes, there is no running water in freezing weather from mid November thru March) 

 

There is No Electricity, so bring your own coleman lanterns and/or flashlights.  Because of fire hazard, please do not bring candles.  No refrigerator, bring your own coolers and ice for your food, and matches. 

 

Propane Gas space Heater & a propane gas countertop double burner hot plate for cooking. 

 

6 single beds & mattresses upstairs, & one fold out couch downstairs. Bring your own bedding, pillow, & towels, & soap. 

 

Kitchen counter, some cookingware & plates & silverware provided. 

 

Outdoor brick grill (bring your own charcoal and matches, or there is some dead firewood in the woods).  

 

Fresh frozen beef available for sale at our on-farm store.  Steaks, roasts, ground beef, etc. 

 

Fishing is OK, but absolutely no swimming or tubing in the pond.  Bass & Bluegill.

8 miles from Burr Oak State Park (lake, swimming, fishing, boat rental, boat launch, Lodge, restaurant, hiking trails). 

11 miles from McConnelsville (7 restaurants, movie theatre and Opera House, 3 grocery stores, churches, Laundromat, boat launch). 

10 miles from Bishopville Golf Course and Horse Riding Stables.
